Are you in love with who they are, or who you wish they were?

The Page of Swords seeks truth. He has his trusty weapon and a thirst for clarity. What he doesn’t have is real-world experience. So here is the Page’s truth: you are in love with an idea, not the reality. You are mesmerized by their potential, by what they could be if they followed your logic. “Put down the blueprint,” the Page urges. “Now, look at the real thing before you with honest observation.”

The Page of Swords in love speaks of a relationship built on potential and conversations rather than consistent action. The card sees you making excuses for their behavior and analyzing their words for hidden meaning. You are busy convincing yourself that the "real" them is just about to emerge. “But are they?” the Page asks. “What do you say you stop interpreting and start witnessing? Look at their actions, not their promises.”

The Page of Swords as a feeling is that restless buzz of a mystery you feel you must solve. It’s the anxiety you get when you can’t quite crack a puzzle. You are engaged in a thrilling game of "what if" that you deem more compelling than the sometimes-disappointing reality of "what is."  However, what you feel is the thrill of the hunt, not the comfort of the catch.

When it comes to a yes or no, the Page of Swords delivers a bitter “No. You are not in love with who they truly are. You like the concept. The idea. The hypothesis.” Were you prepared for this brutal truth? We hope so.
