The Four of Cups card never lies. It senses the dissonance between what’s being said and what’s being felt. His words are reassuring, sweet, and even intoxicating. His energy is distant and detached. The card sees through his nonsense. He can’t fool it with the “politeness for passion” ruse. 

When it comes to love, the Four of Cups is more of a wet whimper than a roar. While your partner might claim that he is “so into you,” his actions - most likely the lack thereof - suggest lukewarm engagement at best. Why? The Four of Cups suggests the following: he might be bored, avoidant, or simply unaware that he is neglecting you. 

The Four of Cups as yes or no doesn’t play around. It’s a hard “no!” While sure, he might genuinely like you, he is not all that stoked to be with you. 

As a feeling, the Four of Cups is that nagging sensation of something being slightly off. When with him, you feel like you are invisible, stuck in limbo, or settling for crumbs.
