The Hierophant might be the last card you would associate with infidelity. Yet, it speaks of violated trust. Violated on a fundamental level. Whether emotional or physical, this third party’s presence disrupts the pact between you two. The card is not willing to answer this tacky question of “Are they cheating?” It just wants you to question whether or not your relationship has lost its moral center. The card’s message is pretty clear, albeit gutwrenching - something sacred is being broken. 

In love, the Hierophant indicates a breach of loyalty. This isn’t always an affair -  and your partner doesn’t have to be the culprit - but outside influences have entered your sanctuary. An old flame, an intrusive family member, that pretty coworker who gets them - it doesn’t matter. What matters is that the foundation of your love is cracked. 

As a feeling, the Hierophant card reminds you of some gnawing pain in your heart. It stems from your relationship being outsourced. It’s as if someone else is writing your script, and you follow it.
